Bulk Billing changes, and what it means for you.

You may have seen recent government announcements about expanded bulk billing incentives for GPs starting 1 November 2025...

At Next Practice Prahran, we’ve carefully reviewed these changes and will continue operating as a private billing clinic. While most appointments will remain privately billed, we will continue to bulk bill specific services to support accessibility and continuity of care.

We will continue to bulk bill:
• Child immunisations (scheduled with the nurse)
• Flu and COVID vaccines
• Nurse-led chronic disease care plans and health assessments

Why we’re not moving to full bulk billing
We believe that quality, time and continuity of care matter. To provide the level of care our patients know and deserve, we need to ensure our clinic remains sustainable and our team supported.

If we moved to bulk billing every appointment, we’d have to shorten consultations and reduce services — and that’s simply not the kind of medicine we believe in. We’re proud to offer longer appointments, genuine connection and thoughtful care that prioritises people over volume.

By maintaining our private billing model, we can:
• Offer the time and attention you deserve
• Support our team and reinvest in staff, equipment and services
• Provide comprehensive, high-quality care for our community

We remain committed to transparent fees, compassionate care and open communication.
