Shared maternity care means your pregnancy care is provided by both your hospital team and your GP. You will have most of your routine pregnancy appointments with Dr Nisha Iyer here at Next Practice Prahran, while still attending key appointments at the hospital.
This model allows you to experience the support of the public hospital maternity team, while also having the continuity and comfort of seeing the same GP throughout your pregnancy.

How shared care works
Most routine pregnancy appointments take place with Dr Nisha Iyer at Next Practice Prahran. You will also attend several scheduled appointments at the hospital such as The Royal Women’s Hospital and Monash Health (Dr Nisha is accredited across all).
Your baby will be delivered at the hospital with their maternity team.
Cost?
Appointments with Dr Nisha Iyer follow our usual GP consultation fees and Medicare rebates may apply. Any out of pocket costs will be discussed with you.
