Take What You Need, Leave What You Can: Our Affirmation Wall

October is Mental Health Month — a time to pause and reflect on the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing, just as we do our physical health.

At Next Practice Prahran, we wanted to create something simple yet meaningful for both our patients and our team. This year, we have introduced an Affirmation Wall in our waiting room.

The idea is straightforward:

  • Take what you need — if you see a note that speaks to you, take it with you as a reminder for your day.
  • Leave what you can — write down a thought, a kind word, or a short affirmation that might help someone else.

Over time, these small exchanges of words grow into something larger — a wall filled with encouragement, shared wisdom, and gentle reminders that mental health matters to everyone.

We believe small acts can spark meaningful change. A simple sentence on a piece of paper might be the lift someone else needs at just the right moment.
